Röstwerk: Why a specialty coffee shop relies on the LocaFox POS system

Coffee is not a drink. Coffee is a way of life. With this philosophy, Olliver Hermey has been running the coffee roastery in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock for six years. Together with his wife Stefanie, he develops coffee creations here that are delighting more and more customers in the region and beyond. Even companies have discovered the fine coffee varieties for themselves and purchase their very own house coffee from the roasting plant - as a gift for customers or their own employees. How do we know all this so well? It's simple: not only are we big coffee fans ourselves, we have also been supporting Röstwerk with our LocaFox POS system for many years. Time to stop by for an espresso with Olliver and his wife!

Our simple and expandable POS system makes everyone happy: you, your customers, employees and the tax office - thanks to direct DATEV connection.

Röstwerk: For connoisseurs and explorers

When we reach the roasting plant in Schloß Holte-Stukenbrock in East Westphalia, the surrounding area is covered in fine snow. But we don't give a damn about the freezing cold. On the contrary: it only heightens our anticipation of the warm atmosphere of the store and, above all, a hot coffee.

Coffee with personality and character

After a warm welcome, Olliver shows us around the roasting plant and we discover a range that makes our coffee-loving hearts beat faster. "Every coffee in our range is our own creation," explains Olliver. "There's no room for mass-produced goods and we concentrate on coffees that have real character."

Good taste is just the beginning

To keep it that way, Olliver and his wife source hand-processed green coffee from well-known manufacturers. Some of them have been supplying the roasting plant for years, which has led to the development of a trusting working relationship. "Really good coffee shouldn't just taste good," emphasizes Olliver. " Fair working conditions, sustainable cultivation of the beans and careful selection are at least as important to us." You can see that and you can taste it. Because, as we can experience for ourselves, the coffee from the roasting plant is a real feast for the senses. The smell of the coffee beans alone stays with us long after our visit and the varieties we get to try are pleasantly different to the typical coffee from the supermarket.

Heart and soul is the most important ingredient

Long before Olliver fulfilled a lifelong dream with the roasting plant, he worked in international sales and advised customers all over the world. "But this job didn't really fulfill me," he emphasizes. Things are very different today. "I put my heart and soul into Röstwerk and I now have the privilege of working with people who share my passion for good coffee." It is precisely this passion that drives him to constantly develop and refine new types of coffee.

A master of his craft

But where does Olliver get his knowledge from? After all, there is no such thing as training to become a coffee roaster in Germany. "I learned my trade in Berlin at various coffee roasting companies," says the coffee expert. "But it's much more important that you continue to educate yourself, stay curious and have high expectations of your own craft." This is the only way to stand out from the crowd and produce coffee that is more than just a pick-me-up. "Incidentally, my harshest critic is not my customers, but my wife," emphasizes the entrepreneur with a smile. "If she doesn't like a coffee, I get back to work." Olliver is busy producing coffee seven days a week. An achievement as strong as a good espresso.

Only the best of the simple

Incidentally, we look in vain for exotic compositions in Olliver's range. Our credo is: "Only the best of the simple," says the entrepreneur. This applies to the ingredients, but also to the checkout system that Olliver and his wife use to run their store. "I'm not particularly technically minded," admits Olliver. "Nevertheless, our POS system had to meet all the requirements of a modern business and be intuitive to use at the same time."

Slim and flexible: the LocaFox tablet POS system

Olliver opted for the tablet POS system from our company. This is a modern version of the classic cash register, which is not only particularly aesthetic and compact, but also offers all the functions that a medium-sized business needs. "The system is extremely reliable and makes our day-to-day business life much easier," says Olliver. The system can be used to manage stock levels, create statistics and view business figures. It can also be linked to online stores. "The LocaFox model is also compliant with the tax authorities and meets all legal requirements," emphasizes the entrepreneur. "The price-performance ratio is unbeatable and we can only recommend the tablet POS system." If Olliver had any questions or problems, he used the personal advice provided by the LocaFox service. "Just like our business, the POS system grows with us," says Olliver. "So we will continue to use LocaFox in the future and have a solution that suits us like good coffee."
