Basically, it can be said that the tablet POS systems with integrated merchandise management give retailers many more options than the standard cash registers. Especially when it comes to creating and managing products, backing up data, providing statistics and analysis of business figures, and linking other systems and online stores to the POS system. In doing so, you have a variety of options to create the respective articles. You can create variants for the products, activate inventory management so that you know at any time how many items you have in stock. You can also create merchandise groups for your products to have a clearer display in the cash register. All products are provided with an article number/SKU, this is relevant for your internal product listing, optionally you can also assign a GTIN/EAN - number, if you plan to work with a barcode scanner . If you offer products that do not have their own barcodes, you can also create your own labels in the LocaFox system and add them to your products. With LocaFox POS software you are also able to connect external systems. This gives you not only the option to customize the POS system according to your wishes, but also a wide range of possibilities in terms of functionality. The Open-API interface allows you to connect your store with an online store or also to couple it with external store or merchandise management systems.

Product creation:

The creation of products in the LocaFox POS system offers you a wide range of options. All created products are clearly displayed in the product list. For stores that have many items in their assortment, it is a good idea to create"merchandise groups" to be able to classify all products even more clearly. You can even subdivide the product groups again into "sub-product groups" to be able to assign the products even more precisely.

To make it even easier and faster for you to enter all your products into the LocaFox POS system, the product data import is also available. This way you would enter your products into an Excel spreadsheet (template is available in the back office) and upload them to the LocaFox system via data import. Thus you save a lot of time and work.

  • Variant creation: All products can also be provided with variants. Each variant can have an individual price. (E.g. for different colors, sizes, varieties, etc.)
  • Minimum stock warning: To avoid your stocks being empty, you can activate the minimum stock warning. The POS system will notify you when you fall below a pre-selected minimum number of items, so that you can order new products in time.
  • Dynamic price: If you have products that do not have a fixed price, you can activate the "Dynamic price". You would specify the price yourself in the checkout - when selling the product.
  • Measured and weighed goods: If the price of the product depends on the weight or size, you can set a price per kilogram, meter or similar. The price will then be calculated in the cash register depending on the size or weight, for example, fabrics that need to be measured or food that needs to be weighed.
  • Shopping cart discount: You can apply a discount to the entire shopping cart. The discount value can be applied either as a percentage or as an amount in euros.
  • Item discount: Of course, a discount can also be applied to individual items, e.g. if items have defects or similar.
  • Regular customer discount: Individual discounts for your regular customers can also be stored in the customer database. As soon as the customer makes a purchase, the stored discount is automatically deducted.
  • Product labels: Product labels are individualized discounts that are automatically deducted in the shopping cart. Product labels are especially useful during promotional weeks, such as "New Opening", "Summer Sale", etc.

Connection of external systems:

  • Online store: On the one hand, we work with the PrestaShop online store. This can be easily coupled with the LocaFox POS system. On the other hand, we work together with the 1&1 IONOS online store. Here, too, the coupling with our LocaFox system is very simple.
  • Open API: Thanks to the Open-API interface, it is possible that you can connect an external merchandise management system with the LocaFox software.External store systems can also be connected to the LocaFox POS system. For owners of fashion stores, the Connected Retail interface from Zalando could be interesting. There is a partnership with Zalando, which allows you to link to the checkout in 3 simple steps.

Part numbers:

  • Article number SKU: In the merchandise management of the LocaFox system, an internal listing of the article numbers, of all your products is available. This is automatically created by the system to prevent duplicates from being created. However, you can also change this if you wish and create your own article numbers.
  • EAN/GTIN: If you plan to work with a barcode scanner, EAN/GTIN numbers can also be assigned to the products. This saves a lot of time, especially for purchase transactions where there are many items in the shopping cart.
