What does GoBD mean for retailers?

GoBD stands for: “Principles for the Proper Maintenance and Retention of Books, Records, and Documents in Electronic Form, as well as for Data Access.” These are administrative guidelines issued by the Federal Ministry of Finance of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The GoBD have been in effect since January 1, 2015, and have thus replaced the previously valid GDPdU (“Principles for Data Access and the Verifiability of Digital Documents”) and the GoBS (“Principles of Proper Computer-Based Accounting Systems”). In plain language, this means that all transactions occurring within the company must be recorded individually, completely, accurately, in a timely manner, and in an organized fashion. The rule is that there must be no transaction without a supporting document! Every business transaction must be traceable based on a supporting document. In addition, the supporting documents must contain a unique document number, a date, an amount, quantity details, and the issuer and recipient of the document.

FAQ:

Which tablet can I use as a cash register?

The tablet you choose to use as a point-of-sale system depends on your specific business. Here at LocaFox, we’ve opted for Samsung Galaxy tablets because our software runs on Android, and Samsung Galaxy tablets offer the best overall combination of performance, usability, and value for the money.

Does the tablet cash register also have a TSE?

Yes, LocaFox provides you with a point-of-sale system equipped with a technical security device (TSE). In addition to the TSE, LocaFox’s tablet-based POS system also complies with GoBD and KassenSichV regulations.

How much does the POS system cost?

It all depends on the scope you choose. The POS systems can be put together individually. Prices can vary greatly depending on the range of functions and accessories required. It is best to clarify the details in a personal consultation with us! You will then receive an offer tailored to your company.

Who needs a cash register with TSE / Which cash registers need a TSE?

Everyone who owns a cash register or a digital cash register system is affected by the TSE obligation. Only small businesses that operate an open store cash register have been exempt from the TSE obligation up to now.

How much does the TSE cost?

Our feature packages include a Cloud TSE, which means you won’t incur any additional costs for the Cloud TSE and you won’t need to purchase a TSE module. A TSE module is required only in special cases. You can find the TSE module in our online store.

In which special cases is a TSE module required?

If your store does not have a secure and constant internet connection, a TSE module would be required so that you can ensure that all TSE data can be properly backed up.
